my goodness.

It seems I have been hired by the Institute of Contemporary Art as a visiting artist to give talks (for lack of a better word) in the galleries on the monthly no-admission days, to get people to stay for more than a fifteen minute run-through—

(You see I know you were thinking it. Except you, Joss Whedon.)

It will also have a minor curatorial piece as I consult on which works should be featured for that day. Insomuch as it is unpacking contemporary art for a lay audience of various ages, it is absurdly suited to me. I blink in amazement.

Of course it’s also a relief. Even as a part-time gig it’s great to have the gratification. Visiting Artist. Speaking learnedly about art. Remuneration.

I think this means I will pick back up my Boston art review blog, Postmedium (link forthcoming). Strike while the iron is hot, etc. Expect to see insufferable commentary on insufferable art—soon. And starting in October, stop by and say hello at the ICA Boston on the last Saturday of the month.
